TU Tuesday

This article taken from the Times Union, talks about the overwhelming popularity of the newly released Paranormal Activity. The words and phrases are specifically chosen to exaggerate the high volume of viewers, and the level of frightness. The author says, ""Paranormal Activity” franchise, the third installment opened massively, claiming several records in the process." The author also proclaims that, "Many are saying its $54 million haul makes it the biggest horror movie opening ever."
Lais then explains that Paranormal Activity 3 was the largest opening that October has ever had. Lais says,"Pretty swell for a $5 million investment." This means their profit will be quite large. The author then explains how after two weeks, many horror movies tend to decline in viewers. "Still, even with the inevitable dropoff of week two for horror movies, this one is projected to make approximately $113 million."
Lastly, the author then descibes the other "hit" movies in the theatres right now. "Another holdover, Footloose,” at number three. Then he briefly explains the failing movies and how Paranormal Activity 3 is truly a superior horror movie.
